Our mission is to increase pronghorn populations in Arizona through habitat improvements, habitat acquisition, the translocation of animals to historic range, and public comment on activities affecting pronghorn and their habitat.  As a 501c3 nonprofit, all of our proceeds help advance our mission.

Fence Modifications Near Future I-40 Wildlife Overpass AUGUST 12, 2023

Project Location: We will be working approximately 3.7 miles west of Parks near the proposed I-40 wildlife overpass site.

Project Begins: Saturday August 12, 2023. Please be at camp by 8:00 AM. This is a one-day project for all attendees.

Project Activity: We will be removing an old section of Route 66 right-of-way fence, building a new section, and modifying other sections. If time allows, we have additional fence modification within Garland Prairie.

Pronghorn Benefits: The project will help facilitate pronghorn movement toward the future I -40 wildlife overpass, which in turn will help to reestablish the historic pronghorn movement corridors that AAF, AZGFD, USFS, and others have been working towards for decades.

What to Bring: Work gloves (The AAF will have a limited supply), sunscreen, snacks, water, personal gear, and orange safety vest (if you have one, otherwise one will be provided).

Meals: Please provide your own lunch and water to eat and drink in the field on Saturday. The AAF will provide dinner for all volunteers on Friday and Saturday nights, and continental breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Contact: Please register online by Monday August 7th so we can plan to have enough food and tools for everyone. The direct link to register online for this project is https://azantelope.org/event-5345091

You may also RSVP to info@azantelope.org or call 480-702-1045.
